The visit of the monuments and tourist places will be made on foot in the places and accompanied by an official guide of the Spanish speaking city.
The guided tour includes the visit of:
THE KOUTOUBIA, one of the wonders of the Almohad art that is located in the center of the city, where in the past there was a stone palace called “Ksar AL HAJJAR”.
BAHIA PALACE, built in the 19th century as the sultan’s residence. Bahia means brilliant, in fact in the 19th century the Moroccans thought they had built the greatest palace of all times. To get there, we will go through the Kasbah market, the Jewish Quarter (El malah), the Souk of the Species and Badia Square.
THE SAADI TOMBS, one of the most visited places in Marrakech. These tombs date from the late sixteenth century and are located in an enclosed garden which is accessed through a small corridor. Past the threshold, we find mausoleums of great beauty, decorated with mosaics, and different tombs that keep buried sultans, warriors and servants of the Saadian dynasty.
In this tour, we will enter the ZOCO and visit the MADRASSE OF BEN YOUSSEF, built in the sixteenth century was one of the most important Koranic schools. In it, its students lived in austere cells while finishing their religious studies. The most beautiful part of the visit is the inner courtyard with its architecture and mosaics, in harmony with the central pond used to perform ablutions before prayer. Here visitors will find extreme tranquility, after having passed through the bustle of the streets of the Medina.
JARDIN MAJORELLE, this garden was built by the painter Jacques Majorelle and therefore he created it as he would create a work of art. As a curiosity, today the color “bleu Majorelle” is often spoken of in honor of the blue used in most of the walls and details of the garden. In the 80’s the mythical couturier Yves Saint-Laurent acquired it and increased the number of plant species to more than 300. It became his favorite corner, whose ashes he wanted to spread among bamboos and water lilies.
And finally the PLAZA DJEMA EL FNA, which is the central square of Marrakech and the most important place in the medina. It develops the public life of Marrakech both day and night. The best thing about DJemaa el Fna Square is the transformation it undergoes over the course of the day.
