5 Days from Fes to Marrakech via Dades and Desert Merzouga


Pick up at the hotel or Riad where you are staying at 8am and we leave southwards to cross the Middle Atlas Mountains until we reach Ifrane, called ” the little Moroccan Switzerland ” because of its great resemblance to that country. One of the animals that once lived here was the lion of the Atlas, so it has become the symbol of the city and has been dedicated a stone statue in the center of it.



1 Day: Fes – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga Desert

Day 2: Merzouga – Nomadic Families – Riding a camel and night in Haimas Nomads

Day 3: Desert Merzouga – Rissani Market – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley

” Date with the Dawn ” as they are in the desert, it is recommended to wake up to walk to the highest dune that is around the camp to enjoy the sunrise and the relaxing scenery that nature offers us, we will returnon camels to the village of Merzouga.

After a delicious breakfast, we have to say goodbye to the desert and leave for Rissani, visit its market (if we’re lucky and is one of the market days: Tuesday, Thursday or Sunday) we will continue our journey to Erfoud where there is also possibility to visit thefossilized marble factory before continuing on to the palm of Touroug and Tinjdad.1 hour later reach one of the strongest points of the High Atlas: The Todra Gorges.

The bed of the river has formed a Todra gorge walls of enormous proportions and great beauty;It is a paradise for climbers and a unique place.Lunch at the site and a half hour hike would recommend to see and enjoy in detail the Gorges.In the afternoon continue to the Dades Valley, known as the Valley of figs, to Boumalne Dades stop at the ‘legs mono’ ‘Dinner and night in the Gorges du Dades.

Day 4: Dades Valley – Vallée de Rosas – Boutagrar- Palm Skoura – Ouarzazate

After breakfast, we enjoy one of the best views of the Dades Valley.We will do so from one of the most strategic locations that offer us the mountains.

From there we can see the amount of kasbah there and picturesque each, then output to a dotted road several Kasbah of great interest to reach the Kasbah of Ait Youl where we will make a detour and we will look for clues indeeper Central High Atlas, discovering landscapes.

Visit a nomadic family still living in caves in the Vallé of Boutagrar where time seems to have stopped.We’ll see mountains, canyons and valleys and caves where nomads still live in the mountains.Arrival at Vallé of Roses to reunite Kelâa M’gouna.Lunch in the village and in the afternoon pass through the palm of Skoura, then you reach Ouarzazate, Dinner and overnight at Hotel.

Day 5 : Ouarzazate – Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou – High Atlas Mountains – Marrakech

The morning is dedicated to the visit of Ouarzazate: Kasbah of Taourirt, Film studios.After the departure Fortified village of Ait Ben Haddou, visit its famous Kasbah (Declared World Heritage by UNESCO in 1986).In this spectacular setting movies have been shot as reputable as Gladiator, Obelix, Sahara with Penelope Cruz or Jewel of the Nile.

Lunch in the village and in the afternoon departure to Marrakech crossing the mountain pass of Tizi Ntichka with photo stops.Here we will leave the lunar landscape that will give way to the prevailing green, ocher colors … etc.Arrive in Marrakech about 18pm or so, transfer to hotel and end of our services.
